SOC is a technical environment at an enterprise scale. Our customers are engineers, engineering leadership, business and product stakeholders - all distributed globally.  Our microservices platform requires strong ownership from the engineering teams, including accountability for choice, design and support of their data stores.</p><p></p><p>That’s where we come in - even though the engineering teams own their features, we work with and support them using monitoring, alerting and disaster recovery tools to keep our platform operational when things don’t go to plan. We work with and notify teams when we notice inconsistencies or issues on the platform, allowing them to move at pace.</p><p></p><p>We are the Mission Control for JET. We want to ensure we have the best tooling capabilities for disaster recovery and monitoring at speed.  This an exciting opportunity to join our team, building, owning and enhancing our internal toolsets.</p><p>You should have strong software engineering skills and the ability to solve complex problems with automation, tooling, and technology. You should have substantial experience in building solutions with AWS technologies.</p><p></p><p><i>Location: Canada - Remote <br />Reporting to: Technology Manager</i></p><p></p><p><b>These are some of the key ingredients to the role:</b></p><ul><li>Experience of working in agile environment to deliver software</li><li>Proven track record of writing clean, reusable and maintainable code and implementing solutions.</li><li>Experience with leading on tasks, projects or with people which has been proven in development activities or in practice</li><li>Coaching and mentoring - provides coaching and mentoring, transitioning knowledge to more junior staff in relation to specific skills and for general career progression</li><li>Deploying and supporting changes all the way through to and including production with ownership</li><li>Contributing to the definition of product features, getting involved in workshops with other engineering teams and Product Managers where applicable</li><li>Experience automating complex mission critical workflows</li><li>Experience in a busy ‘front line’ Operations environment managing incidents and monitoring Global Platform systems.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>What will you bring to the table?</b></p><ul><li><b>Automation & Cloud Proficiency:</b> Strong experience in Python scripting for automation, coupled with a solid working knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure.</li><li><b>CI/CD & Version Control:</b> A deep understanding of CI/CD principles (pipeline and deployment processes) and proficiency with GIT for version control.</li><li><b>Containerization & Modern Stack</b>: Familiarity with EKS, Docker, and Kubernetes, plus exposure to .NET and Java environments.</li><li><b>Observability & Monitoring</b>: Proven ability to manage dashboards and respond to alerts using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Cloudflare.</li><li><b>Incident Management & Triage:</b> Skilled in basic troubleshooting, reproducing issues, and triaging incidents by assessing impact and escalating to the correct technical stakeholders.</li><li><b>Process Innovation: </b>Ability to work independently to solve complex problems, create/maintain technical runbooks, and actively improve team standards.</li><li><b>Technical Communication:</b> Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between business users, call centers, and technical teams during incident resolutions.</li></ul><p></p><p><b>At JET, this is on the menu: </b><br />Our teams forge connections internally and work with some of the best-known brands on the planet, giving us truly international impact in a dynamic environment. </p><p><br />Fun, fast-paced and supportive, the JET culture is about movement, growth and about celebrating every aspect of our JETers.
